A makerspace in the making...
Franklin Makerspace is the d.b.a. (doing business as) of Franklin Gear, Inc. - a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating a creative, welcoming environment for our community members.
Our goal is to provide a shared space for all of our local makers to thrive with access to tools, equipment, workspaces, and support.
What exactly is a makerspace?
A makerspace operates similarly to a gym.
We have specialty equipment that members can use whenever they like. We hold regular classes for people to learn new equipment and get the most out of it!
But rather than exercise equipment we'll have:
Like fingerprints, no two makerspaces are alike.
As a work in progress, new members may help decide what other shops & equipment we'll have. It could include:
Fostering creativity, collaboration and community
It is about belonging and caring about people and the way we treat each other. If you feel lonely or disconnected we may be the tribe you have been looking for.
Small Business & Artisans
You are the backbone of society - the bootstrapper, the entrepreneur, the creative - putting it all on the line. It can be scary, and lonely.
Join a space filled with other go-getters and creatives. It is more than a shared space, it is a shared desire to make things better.
Industry & Trades
We are dedicated to fostering collaboration in our community.
Join us in this effort by getting connected. Build your community and it will help us build our future.
