This is where we honor those who came before us, shaped us, and encouraged us to dream; and the great City of Franklin.  These donations help dreams come true!

Ken & Judith Ackerson donated

$600 to Franklin Makerspace in

 honor of

their many happy years in

Franklin.

Ken Ackerson grew up in New Jersey and moved to Franklin in 1969 to work first as a science teacher at Franklin High School and then went on to careers at Griffin Tools, the Arwood Corp. and Franklin VNA.  Ken and his wife Susan raised two sons, Lee and Matt, here and enjoyed all the community has to offer.

Judith grew up in Massachusetts, moving to Franklin in 1976.  She raised three children here, John, Bill and Debby Yacopucci, and enjoyed the warmth, friendships and volunteer spirit of her adopted community.  She ended her career as Registrar at Franklin High School.

Ken and Judith created a blended family in 1999 and continue to make Franklin their home, remaining active community volunteers in retirement.

A Juki DDL-8700 Industrial Sewing

Machine ($800 value) was

donated to Franklin Makerspace in

 memory of Gail Varney.

Gail was a talented craftsperson and once worked as a professional seamstress.  Gail was very supportive of others expressing their creativity, so would love the idea of her sewing machine being used within a makerspace!

Special thanks go to:
  • Gail's Family
  • Her good friend Terry Ohlson-Martin who made this donation possible.
  • Our sister makerspace Concord Makerspace - NH's Capital Makerspace
